Client Quote #60: time not wasted
ED recovery takes time, but it is certainly not wasted time. Because it’s a journey through hardship to gain a better understanding of ourselves. It’s a journey that challenges core beliefs, reveals core wounds, and asks you to evolve by being vulnerable. What will this leave you? From what I’ve seen- a lot of strength, resilience, compassion, and love for self and others. Folks become unafraid to be authentic, to live abide by their genuine values which feels liberating. ED thoughts will still come around, but they are no longer controlled by it, it’s just another passing thought. They become a great model for their children, their family, and their friends, and communities. They don’t pass toxic ideals down to future generations or perpetuate this harm to others, they become the pioneers for positive change.
It’s not our fault that we’ve been conditioned by society to want a “perfect” body. We all wish to belong and be seen and valued. This desire is completely reasonable and innocent. And once we realize what was working for us and what no longer works, figuring it all out is certainly not a waste of time.
